Last semester
I began doing the cut paper thing originally focusing on old Armenian folktales and myths. I plan on continuing this project at some point, but for now it's taken a backseat. This image (which is an in progress photo, the final needs to be deframed and documented) is from the story of Arev and Krag, which is the Armenian tale of how the Sun and Earth's core came to be, where through Arev and Krag's love, light and warmth was given to the world. Unfortuntely, it's a a kind of depressing story filled with envy and insecurity. Enjoy!

As promised...
Here's another piece from this semester. Looking at it again, now that I've been experimenting more with the cut paper thing, I would change and try so many different things. This was for an assignment called "That Noise", where we had to illustrate a noise we completely despised. A pretty tame illustration concept, but I'll stand by the idea that there is no reason for the sound of a person's chewing to be as loud as the dinner conversation itself.

Slowly, but surely..
So close to graduation, everything seems to pile up! I thought the worse had come and gone with my Senior Show, but at this point it feels like it never even happened (maybe a sensation that's for the better). Two weeks and I'm done, left to my own devices. Unfortunately, all this work going towards the end leaves me with little time to update and show everyone what I've been working on, but I assure you, I will deliver.

So...
I'm a victim of peer pressure.
Here's an illustration for a Senior Illustration Seminar assignment affectionately referred to as "The Fortune Cookie" assignment. The fortune I grabbed said "All things in the Universe are perfect, even your desire to improve it"
